Police and residents have clashed over wearing face masks in the small town in Kenya's Rift Valley.

Violence broke out after police officers tried to take a motorcycle taxi rider to the station for not wearing a mask.

A witness says three people were killed.

Police confirmed the deaths but gave a different account.

Kenya has made it compulsory to wear face masks in public and failure to comply brings a hefty fine.
