U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to deliver remarks on Wednesday about judicial appointments.

On Tuesday, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told reporters that the president's list of potential Supreme Court nominees would be released "in the coming days. Trump released a list of nominees prior to Election Day in 2016, which was seen as a successful strategy in a bid to win over conservatives and evangelicals.

Trump's remarks come just hours after a report on Bob Woodward's new book, which alleges Donald Trump intentionally misled the public as to the true threat posed by COVID-19. Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany flatly denied the allegations and claimed that the "second part of the quote" was that Trump did not want to see chaos and that he wanted people to stay calm. She also claimed he "never lied" to the American public about COVID-19.
