Mayflower II, a replica of the original Mayflower ship that brought the pilgrims to North America 400 years ago, returned to Plymouth, Mass. on Monday, following extensive renovations.

The 64-year-old historic reproduction, whose renovations had a price tag of US$11.2 million, was forced to make an unscheduled stop at the New Bedford state pier to shelter from Tropical Storm Isaias, while stops in Newport, R.I. and a cruise into the Boston Harbour were cancelled because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Mayflower II completed the final leg of its journey on Monday, where it was expected to dock at the Pilgrim Memorial State Park in Plymouth.
