No indication Americans have been killed in connection with Russian bounties: WH press secretary

CA, 02 Jul 2020
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany fielded questions from the media Wednesday on topics including the novel coronavirus, the intelligence report alleging Russian had offered bounties on U.S. troops and President Donald Trump’s comments on the Black Lives Matter movement.

McEnany said the report which indicated Russia had offered bounties to Taliban-linked Militants for killing American troops was “unverified,” adding that the U.S. government does “not know of any Americans that have been killed” in connection with Russian bounties.

Addressing the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the United States, McEnany described outbreaks in U.S. states including Florida, Texas and California as “embers” despite the massive number of cases being reported in these states. She also attempted to clarify Trump’s comments that he still believed the virus “would just disappear,” stating that it is because of the work being done to develop a vaccine.

McEnany also sought to clarify a tweet from the president in which he called Black Lives Matter a “symbol of hate,” saying the attack was directed solely at the organization, and accusing organizers of making “hateful” statements toward police.
