British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has insisted controversial new powers included in a new Brexit bill are needed to protect the “territorial integrity” of the UK.
The bill has now passed a first round of voting in parliament.
Downing Street has admitted that sections of the Internal Market Bill would give ministers the power to break international law.
