Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Gavin and Stacey arcade in Barry
Telegraph, 05 Aug 2020
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a trip to Barry Island, made famous by the TV comedy series Gavin and Stacey.
The royal couple visited two of the series' haunts, including the seafront arcade and Marco's Cafe.
But the meaning of their visit to the Welsh district was much more serious.
Their Royal Highnesses were there to see how businesses are returning to normal following the coronavirus pandemic.
They spoke with staff at the arcade and met with vendors on the promenade to discuss the impact Covid-19 has had on local tourism.
